MEET THE TEAM

Dr Rohan Wijey BOralH, Grad Dip Dent (Griffith)

General Dentist

Dr Wijey was born in Sydney, and then moved to the Gold Coast, Queensland, where he graduated from Griffith University in Dentistry in 2009. At university he gained skills in all aspects of general dentistry, but took a special interest in orthodontics and in particular, myofunctional orthodontics.

He came to be involved with MRC in 2007, researching and writing articles on both traditional and myofunctional orthodontics.

Dr Wijey’s formal myofunctional education, and consequent orthodontic re-education, began in Colorado, USA, where his eyes were opened to the benefits and potential of myofunctional therapy. He spent time with the pre-eminent former President of the International Association of Orofacial Myology, Sandra Coulson, observing how simple myofunctional exercises produced amazing changes in faces as well as teeth.

He is currently practising under the guidance of the founder of Myofunctional Research Co., Dr Chris Farrell (Dentist), in the field of TMJ disorder and myofunctional orthodontics.

Dr Wijey is now embarking on an extensive program of post-graduate studies in traditional and myofunctional orthodontics and TMJ disorder. He is also currently involved in advancing the MRC Clinics philosophy by training dentists and orthodontists worldwide who are adopting the MRC Clinics method of treatment.

Outside the clinic, Dr Wijey is a running fanatic and can often be seen striding along the beaches of the Gold Coast in the early hours of the morning.
