Vanee Ganesaratnam BOralH (Griffith)

Oral Health Therapist

Born in New Zealand, Vanee moved to Australia at 2 years of age. After attending school in Brisbane, she completed 1 year of a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Technology at Griffith University on the Gold Coast before transferring to a Bachelor of Oral Health in Oral Health Therapy. Dental Technology equipped Vanee with a basic knowledge of dental materials and prosthetic work along with orthodontic wire-bending skills. Oral Health Therapy, however, gave Vanee the opportunity to work with children in all areas of general dentistry, and introduced her to orthodontics. Vanee enjoyed the basic science subjects that underpin any health degree, such as anatomy and physiology, however the practical, clinical exposure she served was the most valuable experience.

During Vanee’s first year of university, she began working at MRC Clinics as a dental assistant for Dr. Chris Farrell. Dr. Farrell was Vanee’s mentor in the field of orthodontics, and helped to take her basic undergraduate level of knowledge to a higher standard. In this role Vanee got a keen insight into Dr. Farrell’s techniques and first-hand knowledge of the amazing results they achieved.

After completing university, Vanee hit the ground running in her current role as a qualified Oral Health Therapist. Vanee has also worked with Dr. Farrell and the MRC team to develop the MRC Clinics® system - an evolutionary concept in myofunctional orthodontic treatment and practice management. Since the inception of the MRC Clinics® system Vanee has enjoyed working with children to educate them about myofunctional habits and helped them to achieve their dental and facial goals.

“My particular interests in oral health are to do with children and shaping their growth and development; this is why working with MRC Clinics® is a perfect fit for me.  The aesthetic results are great to see, however, the greatest thrill for me is seeing the transformation in confidence and happiness that often accompanies correction of muscle dysfunction and occlusion.  MRC Clinics has given me great opportunities to be at the vanguard of the future of orthodontics; I am learning something new everyday and loving every minute!”

Outside of the clinic, she has presented educational lectures and demonstrations to international dentists from the Philippines, China, Korea and America about operations at MRC Clinics®. More recently, Vanee completed a course in the United States in Orofacial Myology; a field that exercises muscles in the orofacial region to shape faces.

Away from work, Vanee enjoys playing tennis, playing the piano and traveling.
